         The Note-Music Department was open for readers on the 2nd of January, 1967. Since 1975 the Department has been arranged in the Tchaikovskys’ House.

          First of all the Tchaikovskys’ House is associated with the personality of Peter Il’ich Tchaikovsky, the great Russian composer according to idias of many citizens’ and guests of  the city. As a matter of fact Peter Il’ich had been a guest of his brother Ippolit Il’ich and stayed several times in this house. During all year long the Tchaikovskys’ House welcomes the guests and visitors of the most different corners of our city, region, country, and even from abroad.

 The stock of the Note-Music Department amounts about 25 000 units of issue: books, audiorecords, CDs, periodicals.The forms of services are as follows: reading hall and lending library.

 The Department services:

- Providing bibliographical references;

- Selecting topic materials;

- Arranging mass events: music evenings, talks, and reviews;

- Making personal reports on specified subjects;

- Arranging excursions;

- Providing access to the information resources on the Internet;

- Listening to audio cassettes and CDs;

- Copying text documents;

- Printing out texts;

- Scanning materials;

- Electronic delivery of documents on users’ demand
